All information regarding the ordering process can be found on the Place an order page.

You cannot select the Invoicing payment method: 

  • if you are outside of Canada
  • if your order includes a gift card

In these specific cases, the website will not allow you to use the billing option; a credit card will be required.

No. For security and fraud prevention reasons, we only accept invoicing when the shipping address matches that of the school. If the order is to be shipped to a different address, payment must be made by credit card.

Yes, creating an account is required to place an order.

This is simply a transactional account that allows you to:

  • place an order
  • view your order history
  • access related documents and digital content

Please note that if you wish to have the order billed to your institution, the email address used when placing the order has no bearing on this: the order will be linked to our accounting system via the shipping address.

When you place your first order or log in, an account is automatically created. You log in using a code sent via email. It is therefore important to have access to the email address used when creating the account.

There is no password to remember. Logging in works solely with a security code sent via email.

After verifying that your email address is correct, please check your spam folder.

You can add or change a shipping address directly from your profile in your online account before confirming your order. If you need to change the shipping details for an order that has already been confirmed, please contact us as soon as possible.

By logging in with the same email address used for your purchases, you’ll have access to your order history in the Orders section of your account. There, you’ll also find the documents and digital supplements purchased on our website.

You can send your quote request by email to info@passetemps.com. Please be sure to specify the items you want, their quantities, and the shipping and billing addresses.

Of course! Although most of our customers are from the education sector, anyone can place an order on our website.

We do not have a transactional website for retailers. You must send your orders by email to info@passetemps.com.

Payment and billing

We accept payments by Visa and MasterCard.

Our digital gift cards consist of 16 characters and have no expiration date. They are valid only on the Éditions Passe-Temps website.

Here are the main reasons why a gift card might not work:

  • A typo occurred when entering the number.
  • The gift card number was entered in the wrong field, such as the order number field or the promotional code field.
  • You are trying to use a Placote gift card on the Éditions Passe-Temps website.
  • The card has already been used (balance at $0) or deactivated.
  • You received a gift certificate in digital or printed form before our website update (March 10, 2026). In this case, the order must be placed by phone during our business hours.

Invoices are sent by email upon order confirmation.

Online Order – Invoicing (Schools and Institutions)

The invoice is sent directly to the school or institution within 1 to 2 business days after the order is placed.

If you placed your order via email, the invoice is also sent directly to the school or institution within 1 to 2 business days of the order being placed.

If you would like to receive an invoice sooner, please feel free to contact us.

The taxes applied depend on the province or territory of delivery as well as the type of product ordered.

  • Printed books are exempt from provincial taxes.
  • For other products, federal tax applies, while the provincial tax may vary: certain items may be exempt depending on the tax rules specific to each province/territory.

Shipping

All information regarding shipping costs and delivery times can be found on the Shipping page.

Shipping is free on all orders of $149 or more placed directly on our website. This is an offer exclusive to online orders, designed to encourage our customers to use our website.

Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

If your request is urgent, please let us know; we will do our best to prioritize it.

However, please note that we cannot guarantee delivery times set by our carriers.

We primarily use the school calendar to schedule order shipments.* Therefore, may hold certain orders if we believe they will not arrive on time.

If you have specific delivery or billing date requirements, it is important to let us know as soon as possible.

If you wish to receive your order during a closure period, we recommend providing a home delivery address rather than the school’s address (credit card payment required).

*Toward the end of the school year, a banner is displayed on our website to inform you of current processing times. These times apply to the shipment of your order (not delivery). We are not responsible for delays imposed by our carriers.

Packages are delivered by Canada Post, Nationex, or Purolator, depending on the destination.

Unfortunately, we do not ship any physical products outside of Canada.

However, you can purchase digital documents on our website (payment by credit card, in Canadian dollars) no matter where you live in the world.

If you are in Europe, some of our physical products are available through our European distributors. We invite you to visit their websites or contact them directly to check the availability of our resources:

At this time, we do not have an official in-store pickup system (this option is not available on our website).

However, if you’d like to pick up your order at our office during our business hours, here’s what to do:

  1. Place your order online as usual.
  2. Contact us to let us know that you’d like to pick it up.
  3. When you pick up your order, if any shipping fees were charged, they will be refunded to you.

Please note that you can also shop in person at our Quebec City office during our business hours. You can visit our showroom to help you make your selections.

Discounts and promotions

Since the vast majority of our customers come from the educational sector, we want to ensure fairness for everyone. Therefore, we do not offer discounts specifically for schools.

Please note, however, that we occasionally run promotions. We invite you to subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed and not miss out on our promotions.

Here are the main reasons why a promo code might not apply:

  • The promo code was entered in the wrong field, such as the order number field or the field for gift card payments.
  • You are trying to use a Placote promo code on the Éditions Passe-Temps website.
  • The promo code is invalid or has expired.
  • The terms and conditions for using the promotional code (e.g., minimum cart total, excluded items, etc.) have not been met.
  • typo was made when entering the code.

Most of our promotions valid online only, which allows us to ensure faster and more efficient order processing during peak periods.

Products

If you encounter a problem with an item you purchased, please fill out our after-sales service form. Our team will be happy to assist you.

Since most of our items are produced in-house, they are generally in stock. In the event of a temporary stockout, production usually takes a few days. If the stockout persists for a longer period of time, the item is marked as out of stockon our website and can no longer be ordered.

You can now purchase virtual gift cards directly on our website*, available in denominations of $25, $50, and $100. For gift cards with a custom amount, please contact our team

Gift cards must be redeemed directly on the Éditions Passe-Temps website.

*Credit card payment only; invoicing not authorized.

Our books are not sold individually. However, if you or your students have lost or damaged a copy, we can make an exception. To request one, please fill out our customer service form specifying the desired collection and grade level so we can provide you with the price.

Digital documents and additional information

It is no longer possible to order digital documents via email. To purchase a digital document, you must now place your order directly on our website. However, you can use a purchase order if you choose the Invoicing payment method.

When you place your order, a download link will be sent to you via email.

If the order was paid by credit card, the documents will be immediately available in the customer account associated with the order.

If the order was paid via invoice, the documents will be accessible as soon as our team has approved it (within 1 to 2 business days). For your information, if you have received the invoice or a shipping confirmation link (if you have other items), this means the order has been accepted.

There are two possible reasons:

  • The email address used to log in to your customer account is not the same as the one used to purchase the documents.
  • The order was placed before March 10, 2026 (old website): the documents are no longer accessible. Please contact our team and provide proof of purchase so we can resend the documents to you.

E-books are provided on a USB drive, which is shipped directly to your shipping address. This is why you cannot find them in your customer account.

If you have a download code (a 16-character alphanumeric code) included in your product’s box or on an invoice, this code is linked to our old website. It cannot be used on our new website. Please contact our team and provide proof of purchase so we can grant you access to the documents.

Yes, but with certain limitations. The documents were designed primarily for display and printing. They may work with screen readers, but we recommend using samples to test compatibility before full use.

No. We therefore recommend that you carefully review all information before confirming your order and ensure that you do not already own the product.

Shipments and returns are handled separately. If you wish to make an exchange, you can simply return the unwanted items to us and place a new order (shipping fees apply).

Since our products are assembled by hand in our Quebec City factory, assembly errors may occasionally occur, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Whether you ordered from our website or purchased one of our products from a retailer*, you can request the missing parts. Simply fill out our after-sales service form within 30 days of the shipment date (or the in-store purchase date).
